UI/UX Designer

InnoVint is a rapidly growing software company, offering the wine industry’s leading wine production software solution. Our cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solution helps production, winegrowing, compliance and finance teams efficiently manage the end-to-end operations of a modern, successful winery. From vineyard to bottle to filing mandatory compliance reports with the TTB, InnoVint is modern winemaking reimagined!

The Role

InnoVint’s traction with and value to wineries of all shapes and sizes – from artisanal, boutique producers to the world’s largest producers – has accelerated not only our company’s growth but our product roadmap as well. To deliver on our roadmap, we’re looking for a remarkable, early-career UI/UX Designer to join the team. Making wine is a process that is complicated and involves a lot of data manipulation, unit conversions and winery math. Winemakers want to make wine, not wrestle with rigid, hard-to-use software. As such, you’ll be designing flexible, sophisticated, yet elegant and intuitive solutions designed to optimize winery operations while simultaneously delighting our winemaking clients.

As a UX designer at InnoVint, you will work closely and collaborate with our UX Lead and regularly work with many stakeholders on the team, playing a critical role in the development and delivery of client-facing features.

One of InnoVint’s core strengths is our constant focus on usability and you will be a key player in this focus. Usability in a sophisticated, mission-critical application can look very different than in other apps. You’ll spend a lot of your time wrestling with how to simplify workflows and interfaces. We’re looking for someone with the intellectual curiosity and perseverance to tackle these daunting but rewarding challenges.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working with the internal team to understand the complex world of winemaking sufficiently to reason about it and design software for it
  • Creating product permutations flow charts, or other documents to assist the lead designer and the wider product team when working with larger features
  • Taking responsibility for features and improvements from conception to release
  • Working with our Lead Designer to codify, implement and rethink existing design patterns
  • Creating assets for web and mobile applications
  • Helping shape processes and best practices of the design and product teams at a crucial moment in the company’s growth
  • Attending to details and design consistency to the body of work so that deliverables are clean, elegant and easy to understand

Who You Are

We know how special and unique you are. We bet you:

  • Are passionate about improving the lives of winery personnel with better software!
  • Have off-the-charts intellectual curiosity, which leads you to want to deeply understand how enterprise wineries work
  • Are passionate about designing user interfaces for complex professional applications
  • Have at least two years of professional experience in web and mobile app design
  • Are a designer with strong typography, layout and visual design skills, along with an eye for “fit and finish” polish and pixel perfection
  • Are comfortable using modern, collaborative UI design tools such as Sketch or Figma
  • Are a strong communicator who is able to work collaboratively
  • Are flexible and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Are energetic and pro-active: a driven self-starter
  • Think on your feet and are an adept problem solver
  • Are productive working independently from a home office or co-working space
  • Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Familiarity with InnoVint or another modern wine production software solution is desirable. A passion for winemaking is a definite plus.
