The Role

As InnoVint’s Director of Product, you’ll ensure the company uses leading-edge product design principles to create products our customers will love for decades. You’ll help the InnoVint platform grow into a multi-product suite of applications, some of which are yet to be built.

Reporting to the CTO, this key role has broad impact and works closely with all teams. You’ll be a high level strategist that’s involved in product strategy, roadmap definition, packaging, pricing, and marketing for existing and new products. Within the Product team you will actively contribute to our success at mapping complex winery operations and financial workflows into elegant and easy-to-use software. You’ll join a knowledgeable team with 10 years of experience building our complex application, eager to improve with your help and guidance.

 

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Have 2+ years experience leading a Product Team in a B2B SaaS company, managing both Product Managers and Product Designers
  • Have an additional 5+ years experience as an individual contributor Product Manager in a B2B SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring, leading and scaling the product team of a leading B2B SaaS solution provider between $3M-$20M ARR
  • Demonstrated success of managing multiple product lines and diverse personas associated with each product across a wide range of ACVs for SMB, MM, and Enterprise
  • Experience working as a strong collaborator cross-functionally with other department leaders setting annual strategic initiatives that dictate the company’s direction and driving your team to quarterly OKRs

 

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands on leadership role both with your team and other department leaders. You’ll directly manage existing Product Managers and Product Designers while working closely with engineering, customer success, sales and marketing leaders. You will provide structure and set goals for the product team while actively participating in designing solutions.

Some of the activities you’ll focus on include:

  • Set the strategic product plan and ensure the annual goals are on-track and visible by developing and managing a consistent quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKR) process
  • Build and lead a world-class department by developing and recruiting a high-performing team
    • Deliver transformational leadership so that the team is highly motivated and engaged. Be an inspirational mentor and role model by challenging and maximizing the strength of the team and aligning their efforts to the mission and vision of the organization.
    • Establish success metrics of a healthy and thriving Product team, including instrumentation that demonstrates team effectiveness, product effectiveness, and goal attainment
    • Facilitate a twice-yearly performance review process to ensure all employees receive regular and high-quality feedback
    • Find clever ways to celebrate the team’s success at achieving important milestones
  • Work closely with our world-class engineering and product team to co-create amazing features that we’re all immensely proud of and which our customers will love
  • Actively participate in user research, ideation, goal setting, design, iteration, deliverables, and cross-department communication with the Product Team
  • Deeply collaborate with the CTO, CEO, leadership team, and Product Design Lead to pioneer our foray into multi-product offerings and help our GTM approach, bundling, pricing and promotion of the new product offerings
  • Establish a consistent and reliable Product Design process, including creating clear workflows for user research, product management, design, and development
  • Develop a company-wide product release and GTM motion, integrating processes, content and data to/from stakeholder teams (e,g., Engineering, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, etc.)
  • Participate in pre-sales enterprise engagements to support deals and then actively participate well past go-live to ensure their continued success
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to identify new revenue streams via product upsells and expansion opportunities
  • Attend customer meetings and visit them onsite to develop an intuition about our customers, their hopes and dreams, their pain, and how we can help them.
  • Provide an elevated level of thought leadership on the leadership team and on company-wide initiatives. This includes meeting with functional group leaders to understand current challenges and strategize on opportunities for increased efficiency, such as with new or improved technology, new or modified role types, or new or modified processes

  • Are an adept multitasker, comfortable working collaboratively and cross-functionally with winery prospects and our internal salespeople and marketers.
  • Are energetic and proactive: a driven, self-motivated, self-directed self-starter who works productively and independently from a home office or co-working space
  • Are ambitious and collaborative – you want to contribute to the success of an enthusiastic team and make a big impact on the company’s success
  • Strong bias to action and fearlessness in getting hands dirty
  • Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills. You are clear, concise, and at times, persuasive and inspiring. As a distributed, mostly remote team, we excel asynchronous communications and bet that you do too!
  • USA based, with a preference for west coast candidates.
  • Will become as passionate as we are about improving the lives of winemakers and winery personnel with better software!
  • Familiarity with InnoVint or another modern wine production software solution is desirable, but not required. If you’ve ever worked a harvest/crush or have dreamt about being a winemaker, that would be ideal.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

InnoVint’s compensation program delivers above-market compensation based on role, experience, and geographic location. Total compensation includes base salary ($130k-$170k), bonus/variable compensation, stock options (ISOs), as well as a benefits package including:
